THE FOUNDER
Jose Monroy Olivos

Paracho, Mexico
In 1932, Jose Monroy Olivos founded a small guitar workshop named JOM (after his initials), which he managed with both his heart and soul. Within that workshop, the artisans made the guitars entirely by hand with basic tools, since the town did not have electricity.

SECOND GENERATION

With a deep understanding of the situation in his workshop, and taking advantage of the arrival of electricity to the town, Jose's son Manuel decided to make some changes. This included acquiring machinery from Europe to standardize the manufacturing processes in order to produce better quality products.

This quickly led to him creating the first high-production guitar factory in Mexico, building the best guitars in that country and making more than 500 guitars per day without lowering the quality of construction or sound, thus becoming the best-selling guitar in Mexico.
Manuel Monroy passed away in 2002.

Suono Monroy is Manuel´s grandson. He grew up immersed in the guitar and music industry.
At the age of 9, under the tutelage of the master luthier of his father's factory, he assembled his first instrument: a cedar requinto.
At the age of 14, he began designing his own guitars and working with different new materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum. But over time, he realized that no material, not at least at present, could improve the acoustics and beauty of natural wood, and when properly managed in the forest, it is one of the most sustainable and friendly materials on the planet.
